Who makes these crystal glass creations?
The artist,
Angelo Tiozzo, and his
associates make them by fashioning crystal glass rods into various
shapes. Gala Glass was once a one-man operation but has now grown
to include the second generation of the Tiozzo family. The third
generation of the Tiozzo family is currently hanging out in the
studio playpen under the supervision of doting parents and grandparents!

What is crystal glass?
Crystal glass is a top-quality glass that we use in all our creations.
We use either clear crystal glass (which can also be trimmed with 22k
gold) or Murano crystal glass which is a world renowned colored glass.
Are these creations handmade or machine made?
All our creations are handmade. The gold trim is also applied by
hand.
How do I know it is safe to shop on your online boutique?
We take great pride in offering a safe and secure online shopping
experience. That is why we use PayPal as our payment processor.
As of today, PayPal has well over 100 million member accounts in
190 countries and regions. Not only does PayPal promise to protect
customers from revealing their credit card info to merchants (that
means no one here ever sees that information ... ever) but they
use highly advanced encryption methods to protect that information
from the bad guys. We also respect your privacy and we're committed
to protecting it.

I subscribed to your contest but I don't receive the Gala Glass Newsletter!
If you never received the Gala Glass Newsletter, make sure that
you have confirmed your email address (you should have received
a confirmation email from us - which may have landed in your "spam"
account). We do this to ensure that you really are the person you
claim to be and that you are interested in receiving information
from us.
If you have confirmed your email address with us and you no longer receive
the Gala Glass Newsletter (we send one out about once a month),
it is probably being blocked by your company or your internet provider's
filters. This is something we have very little control over, but
there are things that you can do:
- Ask your company or internet provider's administrator to always
accept email messages from 'mtiozzo@galaglass.com'.
- Add 'mtiozzo@galaglass.com' to the "safe list" or
"friends list" in your email program (ie: Microsoft
Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird).
- Finally, you can register to our contest using an email address
that is not filtered by a third party, (ie: Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail).
What is murrina?
Murrina is a small crystal glass disc used in a variety of glass
applications to add a burst of colour to a given creation and is
a symbol of the Murano glassmaking tradition (see image at top of
the page).
It is created by fusing thin Murano crystal glass rods together. Various
colours are used to produce a wide range of symbols and images. The
rods are then stretched so as to create a long and thin rod. When this
new rod has been pulled into the desired diameter, it is cut to create
small disc-like shapes (murrina) which retain the symbol or image of
the new rod. We use murrina in the creation of some of our pieces including
our
rooster.
Do you sell handmade oil lamps?
We do sell a range of crystal glass lamps and oil to fuel them in a
rainbow of colours.
Click here to view our selection of handmade crystal glass lamps
How long does the lamp's wick last?
Our fibreglass wicks last for years since the lamp oil burns but the wick does not.
How long does a bottle of oil last?
One bottle will last for approximately 90 hours of use.
Do you sell wholesale?
We have always been committed to selling directly to our clients.
We recently realized that we could reach and satisfy more clients
by working in cooperation with other stores. If you are interested
in becoming one of our wholesalers,
click
here to apply.
Do you make creations on request?
We cannot accommodate client requests since each new creation takes
roughly 6 months of designing and refining to perfect.
Do you do repairs?
We do not do repairs but we suggest you try “Epoxy Glue for Glass”. People often get excellent results
with it. We do not repair because:
The broken area always remains weaker.
Often when you reheat crystal glass, it explodes.
Usually it takes more time to repair a creation than it does to make two new ones.
When you repair a creation, the seam always shows.
