A few years ago I was walking through a mall and saw a Gala Glass kiosk. A large yellow crystal butterfly caught my eye, and was really quite lovely. I was a bit younger at the time and didn't have the money to buy it. When I saved up and came back a few days later, to my dismay it had already been sold. For the past several years my oldest daughter started buying me these beautiful glass figurines. She started a trend, every Christmas I get a different one from her and her hubby. And even my four other children have decided to start buying them occasionally. In 2005 at Christmas I was given a beautiful piece, it had a centre piece that you put candle fluid in and on either side was a dolphin coming out the sides. Unfortunately, I was hospitalized and when I came home the homecare lady broken this piece. I have been so upset, we can't fix it. Now I have a special cabinet that they are in so they don't get broken and only I am allowed to dust them. They are precious to me, as everyone is special and means something special, no matter which of my kids give it to me.

I used to shop at the kiosk in London at Christmas, and have consistently bought my family small gifts. I had bought a rose and mirror a few years ago and thought to ship it myself to the states, but in the process through customs and everything, the rose got broken and seeing the disappointed look on her face via webcam was almost as bad as how I felt when i realized it had broken.
